Timothy Earl Butts Sr is a former telecommunication analyst intern at Allegheny Ludlum Steel/Allegheny International who has risen to become vice chair of clinical applications development, an international advisor to clinical IT entrepreneurs, a regional NAACP president who marched for civil rights and inclusion initiatives, a STEM advocate across industries, an IT Operations Management faculty member, coding academy program builder and founder of a consulting company. He is currently Vice President of Operations of BDPA, a translator of technology for business and healthcare and is a living example of taking IT from the classroom to the boardroom.

Mr. Butts is a distinguished alumni of and educator at Duquesne University, The University of Pittsburgh, Temple University, The University of Houston and The Wharton School-University of Pennsylvania . He has been in the Information Technology (IT) industry since 1980. He left the Allegheny International in 1986. He held the roles of telecom analyst during the divestiture of American Telephone and Telegraph (AT&T) “ Ma Bell”. A system analyst, project leader, program manager, senior project manager, PMO, management consultant and professor, and management consultant in Philadelphia, PA. Timothy completed the ITSMF academy. He then became a business owner in 2003 when he incorporated TEB & Associates providing services and support to clients around the globe.

In 1981, Timothy Butts became a member of INROADS and began to apply his life mission of meaningful investment of his Three T’s: Time, Talent and Treasure into initiatives and people. As Vice Chair at Mayo Clinic for IT innovation, he called together leaders at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and collaborated with executive leaders at Rochester IBM to sponsor the creation of the Southern Minnesota Chapter of BDPA. He invested his Three T’s, and that chapter remains a model example of BDPA. He became life member of BDPA over 10 years ago and in 2021 was celebrated as a BDPA Pace Award winner for community innovation and leadership. Over the years, Mr. Butts has been a nonprofit owner, population analytics advisor with CDC, community leader, INROADS Alumni president, church deacon, as well as National BDPA Vice President of Operations..

Mr. Butts supports community professional development, education, and innovation programs. In 2021, Timothy was a keynote speaker for the BDPACON national conference where he addressed race based health disparities caused by lack of access to IT resources. Timothy Butts is an innovator, educator, IT visionary, community and business leader, mentor, advocate for business ownership and proud father of two sons.
